2006 - Augie Ghidoni Wins Kenny Kahn's writing contest. Los Angeles criminal defense attorney Kenneth Kahn presents Augusto "Augie"
Ghidoni, age 17, a certificate of accomplishment and $250 cash for
winning first place in an essay competition specifically for juvenile
offenders in California detention camps, where he served six months.
Ghidoni's proud mom, Asya, looks on. Ghidoni's essay titled, "True Life"
was a poetic account of his turbulent life. "The writing contest
motivated me to turn my life around and that I can be successful," said
Ghidoni, who has now enrolled at Glendale College to begin classes in
pursuit of a music career. Kahn created the writing competition called
"Word Power."

the MC for the 29th Annual Awards Dinner for the People's College of Law on
the 27th of September 2003. Honorees included
Federal Judge Takasugi, Attorney Kwaku Duren and Radio Station KPFK. The event
occurred at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

High, presented cash awards to three winners of "Kenny Kahn's Word
Power" essay contest recently. Winners from Roosevelt High pictured
