Raymond V. Lopez Creative Writing Award
 The
Raymond V. Lopez Creative Writing Awards
were announced and inspired in 2005 by Kenny Kahn, to generate communications
skills among the students of Lincoln High School.
More than 200 poetry and essay entries were submitted by
students in grades 9 through 12 in the very first (2005) competition. Winning
students were given cash awards by Kenny Kahn in each category.
The Awards were named in honor of Raymond V.
Lopez, who taught at Lincoln High School for many years and was the
teacher who inspired Kenny to excellence in his life and career.
